Background App Refresh
The majority of apps rely on internet data to run, and in order for them to display that data when you tap on them, they must first refresh in the background. Your iPhone’s battery life may suffer greatly if an app doesn’t function properly; you might not even be aware that it is draining. It is imperative that you disable Background App Refresh if you suspect any of your apps are using up your battery life in the background.
Instructions:
On your iPhone, select Settings

Then go to > General > Background App Refresh.

From there, you can either stay on the main screen and stop Background App Refresh app-by-app, which is more helpful if you know which particular app is draining your power.

Or you can tap “Background App Refresh” and toggle it off completely.
